Look Out: Photography and the Worlds of Contemporary Art

The exhibition: Viajeros: North American Artist/Photographers’ Images of Cuba, is listed as a featured destination by The Society for Photographic Education for their 44th National Conference, Look Out: Photography and the Worlds of Contemporary Art, Miami, March 15-18, 2007.

The Viajeros exhibit runs from March 8 -April 14, 2007, at Miami Dade College, Centre Gallery, 300N.E. Second Street, Miami, Florida. The reception will be held on March 17th, 7-9pm. The finale of the innovative and provocative Viajeros exhibit in Miami, will also establish the placement of the image Capitolio, by Maria Lau, into the LUAG photography collection.

“LUAG seeks to collect the work of photographers who transcend the visual, who create their own personal theatre and who represent a high degree of technical and conceptual excellence.”

The collection includes a large component of photographs from Latin America with artists such as Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Ana Mendieta, Rene Pena Gonzalez and Abelardo Morell.
