New Jersey- In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, on display at The Center for Latino Arts and Culture at Rutgers University, is a photo exhibit by New Jersey based artist Maria Lau.

The exhibit “71 Memory and Identity” is on display from September 5-October 10th.The “71” series spans ten years and is both personal and documentary as Lau takes a cultural and historical journey of her Cuban-Chinese heritage. “71 Memory and Identity” is one of the latest visual installments of the narrative and displays works from San Francisco and Cuba.

 C.L.A.C. is inviting the public to join in the closing reception and artist talk on October 9, 2014 from 5-7p.m.  Lau will present a slideshow and discuss the photographic context and techniques used for the “71” series.

 The Center for Latino Arts and Culture seeks to advance the appreciation and understanding of Latino/a artistic production, scholarship, and cultural traditions. We accomplish this through research, publications and presentation of artists' productions and humanities scholarship.
